General Coffee State Park

Oh, how I loved General Coffee State Park! I LOVE horses, goats, donkeys not so much, but I loved the park! Here are some pictures some of the things the park had. This particular section or the park is called The Heritage Farm. As you can see it is a beautiful farm.
Here is a nanny goat that was standing
in the feed trough trying to get people to
pet her!!! She was very sweet.

Here is a turtle that we were feeding fish
food to! At first he was not so sure about
it. He didn't act like he wanted to eat. Well
then 2 ducks came up!( Forgive me. I don't
have a picture of the ducks!) They wanted to
eat! So when the ducks came up and were
eating all of the food, the turtle decided that he
wanted to eat the food too! It's all jealousy!!! :)
Here is goat that I liked. You can't really tell,
but he has very LARGE horns!!! He is pretty
to me! I used to have goats but we got rid of
them because they are ESCAPE ARTISTS for
                                                                 sure!!!

This was the horse I fell in love with!
                                              She is SO friendly!
This is a little lamb that was loose.

                                      It was very friendly, though!!!

These chickens look like the chickens that I have!!!

Not Afraid!

Well you may wonder, why in the world did she name this post "Not Afraid"?

Well it's because of something my daddy told me today! He said to me, " You aren't afraid of that duck out there are you? You got pretty close to him!"

In South Georgia, you don't walk outside after a rainy day and see a duck in your yard on a daily bases! It doesn't rain every day in South Georgia but I just mean when it does rain. But today after all the rain, my family and I saw a duck! Just out in the open in our yard! So I told my daddy," I am going to go get my camera! I want to get some pictures of this duck!"

So I followed this duck around the yard, barefoot, after all the rain not to mention, and I get some good pictures of this duck! At once, I was less than 2 feet away from that duck!!! And the duck looked at me. I looked at the duck. Since he was looking at me like I was out of my mind, I thought he was going to chase me! But instead it looked like he was posing for me!!! I wasn't afraid of that duck at all!!!! He was a pretty duck as you can see:

In this picture he (or she) looks mad
                                                          at me!!!
He's determined to get away from
                                                       this beast! (me)

Everyone may think, I thought this blog was meant for cakes and cookies and crafts! Technically , they are correct! But I thought, You know, people from Wisconsin or other Northern States, might not see ducks much. Instead, they see Chipmunks! I want to see Chipmunks! So, someone could share pictures of Chipmunks and they could look at my pics of ducks!!! I don't know. It was just a thought!

A Little Help

It's been a while since I have posted! I have been busy! Another friend of mine is having a birthday in a couple of days and I wanted to make her something cute but simple! Now, I am going to show you some pics of the things I made. But mind you, when I said A Little Help I meant a lot of help. No, I did not make these things! My dear, sweet mama made these things for my friend! Here are some pictures of the things I made!!!

My friend wears glasses, so I thought
surely my mama could make a glasses case!!!

Another pic of the glasses case.

This is a little pouch with a draw string!
Very cute! It could hold her nail polish or really
                                                                         anything!
Right here you can see the drawstring
and the outside of the pouch.

The instructions for these crafts were in a book I check out from our local library. If you would like to know how to make these things, go to your local library and look for Hooks and Loops, Beginning Crochet by Donna M. Lightbody. Now just to warn you, this book was made in the 70s, so I haven't been following the colors the author chose because she uses 70s colors!!!

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, for my Granny, I made her a coaster and a dish scrubber. Now, both of these things I made from scratch. No pattern, no book, or any other sort of instructions. Now this was my first finished project. So, you may think that I did a sloppy job and that they are not neat or even. But here is a picture of the dish scrubber.

Flower Power!

I made some things for my friend for her birthday and they both originally came from a flower. Here are some pictures of the things I made from flowers!

First I made this flower on the
                                                flower loom.

Then it turned into a bracelet with a
flower on it! As you can see, BFF
in beads,  were crocheted into the
                                              bracelet!

This flower, my mama made also
                                      on the flower loom.

Then the flower that she made turned into
a hair clip. I love making things!

Pink Scarf, Pink Flowers

I told you in my previous post that I know how to loom. I made a pink scarf and pink flowers. However, I had used someone else's loom and I do not have one. As soon as I get some looms I am going to be making scarves, hats, baby blankets, pot holders, and pretty much anything I can think of.

Here is a picture of my scarf.

I think it's cute. Please comment if you like it. I really enjoy making my own things and of course things for other people.

I'm hoping people will like the things I make. I know someone in my family likes the things I make. My grandmother (who I call Granny) asked me to make her a gray scarf with black flowers.

My mama likes to make things too. She has crocheted a baby blanket, a set of wash rags with a pot scrubber, another wash rag, and is working on making me a beach bag.

My other grandmother (who I call Nana) taught me how to loom and taught my mama how to crochet. She has crocheted a lot of things. I guess when someone in the family learns how to make something, you want to learn, and then once you learn, someone else wants you to teach them. So you kinda just pass it on down.

Soon I will be posting recipes I like. After all, my name is Kati Cakes!
